#UPS TRUCK DRIVER FAILS DRIVERS#
While delivery truck or van drivers must obey the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration’s (FMCSA) guidelines, accidents still occur. The need for delivery vehicles and their drivers continues to rise, which has only increased the number of delivery truck accidents. UPS trucks were involved in 2,681 crashes in the two years prior to April 2021 961 resulted in personal injuries and 58 collisions were fatal. During the same time period, FedEx Ground reported 2,436 accidents that resulted in 794 collisions with injuries and 80 fatal crashes. The pervasiveness of delivery truck accidents is surprising.

While we rely on delivery companies to get us our orders timely, a delivery truck driver rushing on their route can cause a commercial truck accident. Delivery vans and truck drivers are subject to additional legal responsibilities beyond those of a passenger vehicle driver. During the winter months, holiday-related deliveries are at an all-time high and in 2020, online sales grew nearly 45% and show no signs of stopping therefore, it’s a great time to talk about what to do if you are hit by a delivery driver while driving in your vehicle.
